Understand Your Packet Loss Results
Interpretation of your test results depends on the sensitivity of your applications. While web browsing and email can tolerate minor interruptions, real-time services like competitive gaming, VoIP, and video conferencing are significantly impacted by even small amounts of data loss.
- A+ : Perfect (0%) No packets were lost during the test. Your connection is ideal for competitive gaming, HD video calls, and any real-time application requiring maximum stability.
- A : Excellent (0.1%) Virtually no packet loss. Most applications perform flawlessly; users are unlikely to notice any degradation in quality or responsiveness.
- B : Good (1%) Low but measurable loss. Occasional glitches or "rubber-banding" may appear in online games, and minor audio clipping might occur in VoIP calls during peak traffic.
- C : Poor (2-3%) Noticeable packet loss. Video calls will likely lag or freeze, games will experience frequent stuttering, and streaming quality may drop to lower resolutions.
- D : Bad (5%+) Severe packet loss. Real-time applications become unreliable. Voice calls will frequently break up, and online games will often disconnect.
- F : Unusable (10%+) Critical packet loss. The connection is too unstable for interactive use. Immediate troubleshooting is required to identify local hardware faults or ISP issues.
